I sound like a broken record every year, but 2012 is the best year yet for Glitter Geek. I am so proud of everything that I accomplished this year, and I owe a majority of it to you, my amazing readers, and my fellow bloggers who share, love, and comment on my posts. You all inspire me to work harder and make Glitter Geek better everyday.
Before we greet 2013, I wanted to take a look at some of my favourite (and I think, my best!) posts this year. Enjoy!
I love collaborating with bloggers for themed looks, and there was no shortage of collaborations for me this year. The Lipstick Bandits have become some of my closest blogger friends, and our recent Secret Santa look swap is my favourite yet. I also got to work with the lovely Lipstick Rules (Lip Twinsies!) and Messy Wands (fall runway-inspired look).
As time consuming as they may be, tutorials are true labours of love for me. It’s amazing to have an avenue where I can share my knowledge with others. I was so happy to do provide a simple photo editing tutorial, and I received such an overwhelming response of gratitude from bloggers. And of course, the basic contouring tutorial was pretty cool, too.
Some of the best beauty products I discovered this year speak for themselves in the before-and-afters. I regularly use MAKE UP FOR EVER Wateproof Eyebrow Corrector on my brows, Chanel Notorious Ombre Contraste Sculpting Veil on my eyes/cheeks/nose. Also, L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer Mascara is my favourite mascara of the year. Bambi wink.
I had so many sources of inspiration this year for makeup looks, from Pinterest looks (Victoria’s Secret inspired), to the movies (Anne Hathaway/Catwoman inspired), to seasonal collections’ visuals (shu uemura Chocolat-Donna inspired). My artistic ability was pushed to the limits, and it has been so fun taking the risks and playing dress up this year.
What were your favourite beauty moments or products of 2012? Have a safe and fun new year’s celebration, and I’ll see you again in 2013.
Love,
Arianne
