Stripped: Lipstick Bandits Wear Nude Lips.

You’d think that finding a good nude lipstick would be easy, but not so for this Lipstick Bandit. My warm, darker complexion makes it tricky. A pink-leaning nude looks bad, except when it’s Chanel. My ideal nude lipstick is peachy beige. Meet MAC Freckletone Lipstick ($17.50 CDN / $15 US), my favourite (beige) nude.


MAC Freckletone Lipstick

Freckletone is a bit different for Lustre formula, having opaque coverage instead of the usual medium-sheer pigmentation. It does have the wonderful sheen of Lustres. Besides the actual colour, I think it’s this sheen that makes this lipstick very flattering. Think Beyoncé. The look is youthful and fresh, without crossing over into goopy glossy lips territory.

    I tried this one in a store and thought it looked orange. Now I’m thinking it was just the horrid store lighting because it’s really quite lovely on you.

      Hey Alison M! It is quite orange toned if you are light enough. Like peach, no? If your skin has pink undertones I don’t think it’ll look very good.

      I always laugh out loud when I read SHMEXXXY from you. You crack me up Tracy! I think for darker skin tones like mine, sheerer is better when it comes to nudes. :)

    I used to have Freckletone, and used it till the last drop – but unfortunately, it didn’t look as good on me as it does you, the peachy tones were just a bit much with my skintone. It looked good enough, but not quite the nude for me. But WOW it really works on you Arianne! :)
