Marcelle Lux Diamond and Metallic Eyeliners are a Glitter Geek’s Dream.

Ladies, I am in glitter heaven.  I received a Marcelle Lux Diamond Eyeliner ($11.95) and a few Lux Metallic Eyeliners ($11.95) a few weeks ago and they are amaze-balls!  I gotta say that without this glitter I would just be a dull ol’ geek. :P

There’s nothing like new glitter products to get me excited. First, the difference between Lux Diamond vs. Lux Metallic.

  • Lux Diamond Liquid Eyeliner is regular eye glitter with a transparent base.
  • Lux Metallic Liquid Eyeliner consists of much finer sparkle with a matching translucent base colour.

For a simple day look, these wear just fine on their own.  They take about 2-3 minutes to go from tacky to touchable but after they set, their staying power is pretty incredible.  I wore a swatch under my sweater (I pull my sleeves up and down all day) and I didn’t see any flaking at all.  They aren’t advertised as waterproof, but it was still able to handle a quick test running water (no rubbing, though!).  It’s impressive, really!

My favourite way to wear them is layered on top of a complementing matte, colour eyeliner.  It really brings my black and colour eyeliners to life.

LOVES IT!  Adding glitter to eyeliner really freshens up any ol’ liner.  Can you say party eyes? :)

Do you do glitter eyeliners?  If you haven’t yet jumped on the glitter bandwagon, these are a great way to test the waters.  Rating: A-.

They look awesome on top of the coordinating liner! Though I do love the look of Ultraviolet on its own :)

Ultraviolet is nice, too! I just don’t have a purple liner I love to top it off with.

Okay, Cobalt Blue looks *awesome* on you. I love it! The semi-translucent effect that the liners have on their own is really cute too, though — I love doing half an eye in one shade, then blending another onto the other half of the lash line for a gradient effect ;)

OMG great idea! How about teal liner, then gradient of Jade + Cobalt Blue? This calls for an EOTD. :)

LOL thanks. I use the Cannon G11 (review on DPReview.com). I’m not that great of a photographer to be honest, it’s all the camera’s work. :)

You are rocking that winged liner! Such pretty colors. This technique is one that I have yet to master.

Thanks. It’s really in the brush. Do you have a bent liner brush? Sonia Kashuk makes a great one; I bought one when I was in NY state.
