An Oh So Pretty! Introduction to LIFT Cosmetics.

My sister and I were back at LIFT Beauty Boutique this weekend for their complimentary mini-makeup application with Lauren.  By the way, we are both in agreement that Lauren is the sweetest makeup artist you will ever meet. :)

I, of course, had to come away with some makeup to show Glitter Geek readers.  Consider them as “blog purchases”, ‘kay? :P  I’m supposed to be on a low buy.  These colour swatches and pictures are actually spot on; thank you sunlight!

LIFT Cosmetics Eye Shimmer in Moon Dust

Yes, m’dears.  It’s a loose eyeshadow, which I usually hate, but this light golden shimmer cannot be ignored!  For me, it is a perfect cheek highlighter that gives me that JLo glow.  I’m not a fan of the celeb, but definitely a big fan of the glow!

I use a fan brush to apply Moon Dust on my cheekbones.  I get a finish that is less concentrated than the swatch above.  Isn’t it gorgeous though?  It is such a smooth, sophisticated highlight that doesn’t scream “I’ve been playing with my mother’s makeup drawer and I am now a disco ball.”

LIFT Cosmetics Powder Blush in Sanibel Sunset

During my mini-makeup appointment, I went for a “cheeky” look.  It’s something that I never do because I didn’t have any bold blushes.  When Lauren pulled this out after I’ve been secretly eyeing it on the display, I immediately said “Yes!  That one!”  Sanibel Sunset is a warm red with a small amount of gold shimmer that will make it perfect for summertime.  This powder blush is soft, non-chalky, and packs a good amount of pigment.

For those of you who are wondering, here is a side-by-side size comparison with a MAC blush.

    • :P Sanibel Sunset is quite warm (and dark!) so it probably wouldn’t suit you that well. My sister got this light pinky/purpley blush though that you would just DIE for.

  1. I’m loving the highlight colour! But I’m a little cautious about wearing powder highlighters as opposed to cream ones…the glitter tends to get everywhere. Did it stay in one place for u?

    • Yes I can definitely say that this stayed in place on me. I have oily skin though, so I think that added a little more grip to the product. I also use MAC Fix+ after doing my makeup to set everything.

    • I luuurve this blush! I was so happy to see this colour in their display and knew that I had to have it. X-Rated is more fuschia, no? This is more of a warm red. :)

    • Yay! I was so happy that the sun was out this weekend and the pictures actually came out perfectly. :) The loose eyeshadow is also awesome for highlighting the eyes in the inner corners, but I prefer to apply it wet and don’t usually have the patience to do that.

    • Hey Meream! Where have you been? I’ve missed you! :P
I have a bunch of things listed under my blog to-do list and this is definitely one of them. Stay tuned!

    • Hi FB! :) I was at Sephora today too!

Oh my! Josie Maran? Don’t we have such an impeccable taste! :P

You know, you can get neutral eyeshadows to enhance and brighten, instead of adding a lot of colour. Of course this depends on preference, because some girls just don’t see the point of extremely subtle eyeshadows. I’ve been wearing MAC Arena all over my lid. It’s a light peach with super fine shimmer. I personally think it would look awesome on you!
