Here’s a short and sweet tutorial for you, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!
I find that some people want to try out colour in their makeup, but just don’t know how to do it in baby steps. When trying out a new colour, I pair it with the basics in small amounts, just to see how I like it. Having green beside my usual black eyeliner not only provides colour interest, but also defines my lash line as a black eyeliner would do on its own. This is a fun, easy way to incorporate any colour — not just emerald green — but if you like a themed look for St. Patrick’s Day, or are celebrating Pantone’s colour of the year, this is a great starting point for you!

Get the Look
- Start with a matte ivory eyeshadow (Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts) all over the lid, up to the brow bone.
- Lightly define the crease with a matte medium brown eyeshadow (Laura Mercier Cafe au Lait).
- Line the top lash line thickly with a shimmery emerald pencil (Marcelle Emerald Waterproof Eyeliner). Wing out the liner to suit your eye shape.
- Define your lash line by lining with a black liquid liner (Maybelline Black Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner). Make sure there is more green than black showing, so go thin with this one.
