October is Happy Month.
Nov 3rd
I’m sad that October is now over. I love the crisp air, the fallen orange leaves, the cool rainy nights. Aaaand of course a couple other things…
Our Fifth Anniversary at Niagara Falls
Amazing view, food, and the best company in the entire universe.

No wonder celebrities stand like this in pictures. I look skinnier.
The Horseshoe Falls in the background. And my love, of course.
The other falls.
Halloweeny
For the first time ever, a Halloween party. It’s pretty fun dressing up. I made the bacon and egg costume myself on Halloween morning.

My Temporary Body Art.
Sep 1st
I had a great time yesterday at the Canadian National Exhibition with the boyfriend. It’s become a yearly tradition for us, and this year was fantastic as always.
I found a booth at the International Pavilion that did temporary tattoos and I decided to get one. My tattoo is made of black jagua, which is applied like brown henna, but appears blue-black like real tattoos. The difference, though, is that when brown henna flakes off, the tattoo is at its most vibrant colour, while jagua appears faint after 2 hours, but fully develops after 24-48 hours.
Taken 5 hours after application.
I also got a pair of earrings that are made of real leaves dipped in sterling silver. It’s pretty amazing how crafty these people are!
I’m kinda nervous about going back to school tomorrow after working on my internship. I know school will kick my ass but I’m up for the challenge.
Hope everyone had an amazing summer and labour day weekend! Now here’s to an even better fall season!
A Thrifty Way to Spend Your Weekend.
Aug 17th
I went over to my boyfriend’s place this past Saturday. I told him that I’d like to get out of the house and do something. That we did, and for cheap too.
Community Pools
We decided to bust out our bathing suits and headed over to the community swimming pool. We got in for free. We only had to use $0.25 each for lockers. Isn’t that a pretty sweet deal? With that, we got access to the indoor water slides, a huge hot tub, and sauna. I even got a free lesson to learn the breast stroke; thanks to my former swim team member boyfriend. Haha.
Public Library
When was the last time you went to check out the public library? For me, it must have been at least 5 years ago. The city of Toronto has some huge central libraries, that I could easily spend an hour in them. It’s like going shopping without the dent in your credit card. Don’t want to spend on magazine subscriptions, or hate the magazine clutter? Are you itching to read an old classic that you haven’t read in a while? Take out a few things from the library! I took out a couple of older Real Simple magazines, which have information on making life simple and more organized. The material from Real Simple in particular is timeless, that you can read it months or years after its release, and the same rules still apply.
Total Cost
- Lockers: $0.25 each x 2 = $0.50
- Access to a Pool & Hot Tub: $0
- Magazines & Books: $0
I heart freebies!

Hey cool! I won a Cover Girl Outlast Lip Color from Lipstick, Powder ‘n Paint. These days I have been spending so much money that it’s really such a treat to get something for free.
I am waiting on chocolates to review from ChickAdvisor. Aren’t I supposed to be watching my weight? I suppose I have to work extra hard at the gym this week.
The long weekend is upon us, and I am heading out early tomorrow for another snowboarding day trip to Blue Mountain. It’s the Valentines celebration for me and my love. I know. Romantic eh?
My idea of Valentines is spending time with your partner doing something that you both enjoy. And it just happened that this year we discovered snowboarding.
How are you spending your long weekend? Apparently there will be another snowstorm here in Toronto. This is such perfect snowboarding weather… but sucks royally for driving conditions. Be safe, bundle up, and stay warm!
Rockin’ Good Time!
Oct 21st
I got out of bed today at 7:45 am, which is about 5 hours early for a weekend. But today was different. I was joining the guys for some paintball action at Bowmanville. So I head out to North York to pick Rom up, got some takeout Mickey D’s for breakfast and drove to Camp X. Wow! I did not expect to have that much fun, since my experience at an indoor club wasn’t that thrilling. I almost won the game for our team during Attack & Defend, only to be hit by one of our own players (boo!). Still, it was awesome crawling flat on the ground, crouching behind trees and bushes. I can see why Rom “loves” paintball so much. I left with a nice bruise on my right shoulder blade, which threw me to the ground when a paintball bounced off me. What an awesome souvenir!

In the evening, Rom and I went to see Cirque Du Soleil’s KOOZA at Cherry Street. We didn’t expect it to be a date night, but after noticing that about 90 percent of the crowd were couples, it totally felt like one. I heard that KOOZA is amazing from several people who have seen it, so I was expecting it to be great. But wow! I was blown away. That show was sick! I can’t really put it into words. The ninety dollar tickets we bought for that show was already worth it on the first half. I know that KOOZA won’t be the last Cirque Du Soleil show I will be checking out.
