Playa Samara. Hands down the best beach in Costa Rica! Less touristy than most, gorgeous waters for beginner surfers…

Warning: Picture heavy!

But it’s worth it, I promise.

The beach in Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast. Nice but too coral reefy to play in.

Typical Costa Rican food: Gallo Pinto (rice and beans with coconut milk), slaw (already eaten) and shrimp. NOM NOM NOM.

Went to a sloth sanctuary in nearby Cahuita, where we saw these bebe sloths in sweateaws. Check out the eye capsules.

First time white water rafting at Rio Toro.

La Fortuna Waterfall: the single most breathtaking waterfall I’ve ever seen.

The really cold swimming area. So invigorating!

Badass. Rapelling down waterfall #1. This was one of the highlights of my trip for sure.

I did really well in this rappel. Can you say, pro?

Getting ready for my last rappel. 60 metres down!

Ziplines at Monteverde. The longest zip line was about 600 metres long and 80 metres above ground. This was probably the scariest thing because you control how fast you want to go, but at the same time, you don’t want to brake too hard that you slow down and don’t even make it to the finishing platform. Loved this!

In the same tour, they also had a Tarzan swing, which I had to try. I was having second thoughts when I was next to go. I’m glad to say that it was as fun as it was scary!

LOL. Crying face. We bought the picture package from the tour because of this single picture. Classic! I didn’t actually cry. I was more like “shitting my pants scared.”

They turned this tree into a climbing tree. Really cool.

I asked the guide about this orange tree. He said it’s called the Tourist tree. Why? It’s sunburnt.

Hi everybody. I am back! A few fantastic things to share with you all:

I have finished school! This, of course, depends on whether I passed my elective: History of Espionage. I’m pretty sure I pulled at least a 60%. LOL. B. Sc. in Computer Science, baby!
The boyfriend and I are going on our first trip together to Costa Rica on May 9. Three weeks will include a hike to the active volcano, hanging out with the turtles, surfing, and ziplining among other fun stuff. We’re super excited!
I’ve been playing some World of Warcraft with my boyfriend. All my friends warn against it as it is social suicide, but I get to dress up my cute gnome warrior. Yes, her name is Kitteh. LOL.
