Sassy Minerals Swatches: Round Two!
May 19th
I felt so bad about my Sassy Minerals swatches last time that I decided to redo them. I hope these are worth the wait!
Click to enlarge them if you wish.
My personal faves: Off Kilter, Jinx (worn here), Spin The Bottle, Chick Flick, First Kiss.

My Mineral Makeup Encounters with Annabelle.
May 11th
When I received news that Annabelle’s mineral makeup line was soon to arrive in my inbox, honestly I was a little concerned. Loose mineral makeup and I aren’t good friends. It’s messy, takes me a long time to use, and I never get a good enough coverage. But one lazy Saturday I took a deep breath, then opened up the box. Time to prove me wrong, Annabelle.
Swatches: “True Beige” foundation / “Hush” blush / “Terra” bronzer
Foundation in “True Beige”
I apply this foundation with a dense stippling brush (like the MAC 187). I’m surprised that this gives a medium coverage. It doesn’t feel like anything on but it evens out my skin tone nicely. It lasts an exceptionally long time even on my oily skin; I know because my face wipes tell me so. It has a satin finish so it never looks chalky or cakey on my face. Around mid-afternoon it does get dewy on me but not like a grease ball; it’s more of a “glow.” For those who are looking for a good and affordable mineral powder foundation, this is it.
Rating: A.
Blush in “Hush”
I love me some blush, so I really wanted to love the blush. This one is a warm rosy pink, and has the finest shimmer to it. The pigmentation is perfect. We have a winner, right? Wrong. I had a problem with its staying power. After I talk on my iPhone, some of it transfers onto my phone and ends up looking blotchy on my cheek. Not cute.
It may fare better on those with non-oily skin. Rating: B-.
Bronzer in “Terra”
I saved the best for last. The bronzer is so lovely. It imparts a stunning glowy sheen, kinda like I’ve just been back from vacation. More like fake-ation! Good, non-orange bronzers are hard to come by, and this is one of the best I’ve tried. You already know I’m not a loose minerals kinda girl, but I love this so much that I might actually attempt to press it into a pan.
Rating: A+.

Here’s a photo of me wearing the foundation (also
worn as undereye concealer), blush, and bronzer.
The Low Down
Overall I think this is a solid offering from Annabelle. The packaging of the minerals are big enough to swirl face brushes around, and the finish of the products is perfection. If you’re itching to try this line, get the bronzer or foundation. I would skip the blush if you’re oily skinned. I still need a bit more convincing when it comes to loose mineral makeup, but for those who already love minerals, this is definitely for you.
Disclosure: This product was sent to me for consideration by Groupe Marcelle.
Shopping my Makeup Drawer: MAKE UP FOR EVER #112 Blush
Apr 21st
You might be wondering why I’m reviving this series. Well, the reason is simple: I’m on a no buy again. After buying a new camera and going bananas over the Sephora sale, I am banning myself from beauty purchases until the end of May.

MAKE UP FOR EVER #112 Blush
Now let me tell you about one of my all-time favourite blushes: MAKE UP FOR EVER #112 Blush. It is described as a warm pink — a colour description that is spot on. For those of you who are warm-toned and are having a hard time finding a warm matte pink, here it is. Cool-toned beauties will also benefit from this blush; it’ll give you a beautiful, healthy glow without the shimmer.

MAKE UP FOR EVER #112 Swatch
You May Have Seen It Before…

Remember my Bright Violets FOTD? That’s MUFE #112 in action.
Like all other MAKE UP FOR EVER eyeshadows, this blush is amazingly pigmented that it’ll show up on even the darkest of skin tones. It is such a beautiful blush to pair with a smoky eye or a no makeup look. Give it a try! I know you’ll love it! Rating: A+.

O Hai! MAC Liberty of London Shell Pearl.
Mar 12th
As you can already tell, I’m very excited about getting Shell Pearl beauty powder. So let’s get you some photos and swatches for the weekend, shall we? Obviously, a huge reason for the hype over this collection is the packaging, so I’m showing you that too. And for those of you on a no buy — and I’m looking at you Marisol and Rae – I apologize in advance!

I was in and out of the MAC store at lunch to grab Shell Pearl. Thankfully, nothing else from the collection was calling my name!
An Oh So Pretty! Introduction to LIFT Cosmetics.
Mar 8th
My sister and I were back at LIFT Beauty Boutique this weekend for their complimentary mini-makeup application with Lauren. By the way, we are both in agreement that Lauren is the sweetest makeup artist you will ever meet.
I, of course, had to come away with some makeup to show Glitter Geek readers. Consider them as “blog purchases”, ‘kay?
I’m supposed to be on a low buy. These colour swatches and pictures are actually spot on; thank you sunlight!
LIFT Cosmetics Eye Shimmer in Moon Dust
Yes, m’dears. It’s a loose eyeshadow, which I usually hate, but this light golden shimmer cannot be ignored! For me, it is a perfect cheek highlighter that gives me that JLo glow. I’m not a fan of the celeb, but definitely a big fan of the glow!
Moon Dust swatch (dry finger swatch)
I use a fan brush to apply Moon Dust on my cheekbones. I get a finish that is less concentrated than the swatch above. Isn’t it gorgeous though? It is such a smooth, sophisticated highlight that doesn’t scream “I’ve been playing with my mother’s makeup drawer and I am now a disco ball.”
LIFT Cosmetics Powder Blush in Sanibel Sunset
During my mini-makeup appointment, I went for a “cheeky” look. It’s something that I never do because I didn’t have any bold blushes. When Lauren pulled this out after I’ve been secretly eyeing it on the display, I immediately said “Yes! That one!” Sanibel Sunset is a warm red with a small amount of gold shimmer that will make it perfect for summertime. This powder blush is soft, non-chalky, and packs a good amount of pigment.
