So Underrated: Lancôme Color Design Blush.
Jun 27th
I am the newest member of the cream blush — specifically of Lancôme Color Design Blush — bandwagon. I have this in Prêt a Plum, and I am dying to get my hands on more colours from this line.

It was actually an unforeseen gem from some blushes I received from a fellow blogger (you know who you are!). Before I tried it, I had no intentions of ever buying cream blushes fearing that they will:
- be sticky,
- be difficult to blend, and
- melt off my face.
Luckily for me, Lancôme Color Design Blush is none of the above.

Swatches of Prêt a Plum
Lancôme really hit the nail on the head on the cream blush texture. The blush is a deliciously smooth cream-to-powder formula that is idiot-proof. It has a very slight dewy finish, so it looks like your skin, only blushing.
It has great staying power when worn on its own, but my favourite way to wear it is layered under a complementing powder blush. Even on my oily skin, the colour on my cheeks lasts all day. Can you imagine? A blush that lasts through the greasies and sweat, and does not rub off on my iPhone? Pretty impressive, no?
I decided to Google reviews of this product and it only returned a handful of results. I’m really surprised that this doesn’t get more love from beauty blogs, because it is the best cheek product I have come across. I have no complaints about this blush. Oh, actually I do have one: I don’t own all the colours. Love this. Rating: A+.
A message from Scherbatsky

I guess Scherbatsky wants to make her presence known on the blogosphere since she just jumped on my keyboard and typed this message for you:

I Dig Matte Baby Pink Blush, and So Should You.
Jun 25th
As promised, I am swatching shu uemura glow on blush m pink 33e, a warm matte baby pink.

At first glance, it looks too light to show up on my NC 35 (or probably even darker) skintone. But it is just light enough to add brightness to my skin when it is looking dull. Like when I don’t get enough sleep because a kitten woke me up at 6:00 am.

And here I thought a colour like this would look chalky on me. It is quite subtle, but I am really loving this on its own for an (almost) makeup-free weekend, or over bronzer for an extra ka-pow! The blush is very smooth so I could really layer it to get the effect I want.

Here I buffed the blush onto my cheeks. It’s like angels kissed my cheeks. Am I right?!
Usually I don’t take flash photos because they look too harsh. But it’s the best way to show off the colour; otherwise under artificial light my camera will not pick it up. I ran out of daylight because of this little riot:

How does one fall in love with a kitten after only 2 days?
Oh and she just loves playing with crumpled up paper balls.
Now Lusting: shu uemura Lavender Bloom.
Jun 24th
After work today I stopped by the Holt Renfrew nearby to pick up a sample of NARS Illuminator in Orgasm. As I was walking around, a lady from the shu uemura counter stopped me to ask if I wanted a quick eyebrow touch up. ”Two minutes,” she said. Before I could get a hold of myself I somehow blurted out “Okay!” even though I know it will not be two minutes.
She started by showing me the brow pencil, which she ran back and forth just barely skimming my brow hairs. Of course, this was the day that I decided to forego filling in my brows, and wow! What a difference.

So that’s it, we’re done right? Wrong. She went on to show me the SPF 30 mousse (amazing, but I just started to use another sunscreen), a bronzy blush (kind of too shimmery, and looked like something I had), then sprayed my sticky humidity face with some water thingamabob.
I decided to go with a matte baby pink blush, glow on blush in m 33 e.

I’ll try to get some pics and swatches tomorrow night.
It is really quite pretty.
And of course, do I leave the shu uemura counter without ooh-ing and aah-ing at the false lashes? This one, called Lavender Bloom, is like Smoky Layers‘ conservative sister with some deep purple lashes mixed in. I am convinced that need them! Maybe I’ll pick them up next time…

Impromptu Makeovers: Yea or Nay?
Do you ever get sucked in to impromptu makeovers at makeup counters? How do you deal with it? Do you have enough self-discipline to just walk away?
Or are you just like me.
Swatches: MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Blush.

Here are some swatches, just from samples, because:
- They are pretty.
- I want to buy the full size, but
- They are are kind of expensive, and I’m still not sure if I should buy.
Only a shameless person (or a beauty blogger) would ever ask for more than two colours to sample at Sephora.

#14 Star Struck / #5 Nip Slip (best name ever) / #6 Quickie
So far, I really love Quickie layered under MAC Hipness blush. Best coral cheeks evarr!
Pretty New Things: MAC Hipness Blush and Hush Cream Colour Base.

Here are some swatches of the newest members in my makeup collection.
MAC Hipness Blush
This colour is so pretty that I couldn’t pass it up. It’s just really too bad that the packaging is incredibly ugly.

MAC Hush Cream Colour Base
I bought this specifically to keep my powder blushes in place. I have very oily skin, especially now that it’s hot, and my powder blushes tend to slide around my cheeks as the day goes on. I’ll have to report back on how well it does the job.

Hush CCB / Hipness Blush / Hipness Blush over Hush CCB

The swatch of Hush CCB above is very heavy. In real life it wouldn’t be that opaque, but instead just a sheer whisper of shimmer. The layered colour looks a little bit like the infamous Marine Life Highlight Powder, don’t you think? I guess I didn’t really need that one after all.
What’s New With You?
Is there something pretty you bought recently? Perhaps from MAC To The Beach? To my American readers, what’s the plan for the long weekend? Something else you feel like sharing?
My boyfriend will be moving into a new apartment on June 1, and my web server will move with him. We expect about 2-3 days one day downtime for Glitter Geek, which is going to be sad. We’ve been buying tons of furniture for this first big move (I can feel my wallet ache), but mostly it is a very exciting time for us!
