May This Makeup Corner Be This Tidy Forever.

Hiatus, shmiatus.  So much for that.  I’m just so excited to show my makeup area.

I have been in obsessive home organization mode lately that I thought I’d share my sorta complete set up for my vanity area.  My vanity table is the IKEA MALM Dressing table.

My most recent addition is the huge hanging mirror I bought from Homesense for a steal — only $30.  I love that it’s almost as wide as the table.  For lighting, I have an OttLite ($30) from The Shopping Channel.

Another Homesense buy that I love is this round silver tray ($15).  It contains my everyday skincare and makeup products, as well as other products that I am testing out.

The mirrored perfume tray was something my mom picked up from a garage sale that she gave me.  I love displaying my favourite fragrances this way; it just looks so luxe.

My makeup brush and hair products holder is a pencil holder from IKEA.  These are the only hair products I use as I’m very picky and products rarely work on my fine hair.

Totally Summer Cottage-Worthy: Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil.

We had just celebrated our first long weekend of the summer — Canada Day eh? — and I spent four blissful days in a rented cottage up north with some friends.  It was a hell of a good time; the sun was there, too, and I caught lots of it (while wearing sunscreen, of course).  Another body product that I have been dying to tell you about is Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil ($28).

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil

I’m very lazy when it comes to putting lotion on, but with all the sun I’m bound to get this summer — from the long bike rides to outdoor boot camps to the beach — I’ve been trying to nourish my skin with this body oil.  The oil smells slightly citrusy but not overwhelming.  It moisturizes beautifully without being greasy.  I might even call it magic.  This bright orange oil (almost) transforms my legs into Mariah Carey legs — smooth, radiant, and golden. :)

Total vanity aside, the Sea Buckthorn Oil is also great for your skin. The formula contains super antioxidants Vitamins A, C and E, as well as essential fatty acids to help moisturize parched skin. Sea Buckthorn berries are known for their healing properties, so their oils are perfect for use on a sunburn if you happened to fall asleep on the dock. ;)  I love Weleda Sea Buckthorn Oil so much that I think I need to get on that 12-step program Janine is on.

Ingredients: Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Limonene*, Linalool*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Benzyl Salicylate*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Farnesol*. * from natural essential oils
