Hello, gorgeous readers! :)

I am back from San Francisco and a bit busy with life at the moment, so I just want to let you know that posting will resume next Monday! Hello from San Francisco! After two days of exploring the city on foot,  I’m getting some downtime and taking the opportunity to do a quick blog post. It’s fun to see a lot of the city, but it’s also hella exhausting. Oh yes, I’ve also adopted the local slang. ;)

Yesterday I met up with Marisol for the first time in real life (hey girl!) and she showed me around the city a little, including a short stop at Sephora just to browse. Yeeeeaahhh, um. No. This happened:

And then, I picked up the Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette ($48 US / $60 CDN at Sephora) because it’s awesome.

I’m only going to say this: all the eyeshadows in the palette are richly pigmented, smooth and beautiful shades. Have you ever seen a navy so rich as Deep Night? I never have. Wow! Now I’m going to let the swatches speak for themselves.

If you’re hanging on to a $15 or $20 off $50 at Sephora, this is a great early Christmas gift for yourself. This is probably one of my best buys of the year.

The Looks of Holiday 2012

It was such a hit last season (and it’s so fun to put together), so here’s a glance at the looks for Holiday 2012 collections from our favourite brands. It’s not surprising that we are seeing a lot of gold eyeshadows and red lips from brands that stick with classics (Chanel, Laura Mercier, Clarins and Dior). I always appreciate the brands that do something a little different, though. A little bit of snowy twinkle on the cheeks from Bobbi Brown and Giorgio Armani is super pretty. MAC Glamour Daze was most surprising, but I’m not that excited about it. There’s also the highly anticipated and fashion-forward shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld collaboration, which may or may not be your thing. The standout collection to me is YSL Northern Lights Collection. If you love colour, you will drool over the collection’s star product: a palette of blues and purples to mimic the Northern Lights. Be sure to come back soon for photos and my review!
