The Looks of Fall 2012

Fall is a season for all makeup lovers.  Whether it’s an emphasis on the eyes or the lips (or sometimes, both), there’s a little something for everyone.  I have been anti-crackle polish since day 1, but my oh my — does the Dior khaki shatter polish look good or what?  From the classic smokey eye and berry lips from Chanel and Laura Mercier, to the look of a typical YSL girl (lots of eyeshadow and blush!), to super daring shu uemura and NARS, fall 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting season for makeup.  Oh, and can we talk about Revlon Shanghai Collection by Gucci Westman?  I’m telling you now… it is going to blow you away (available in September, reviews/swatches to come).

Lipglosses for a Lipgloss Snob, Part 2: Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Peony and Bordeaux.

Hi, my name is Arianne and I am a lipgloss snob. I shy away from goopy, sticky lips. I love the shine even though Mr. Glitter Geek says “it looks like you ate a greasy hamburger and didn’t wipe your mouth.” Articulate, that boy is. As a lipstick addict, one of my beauty resolutions this year is to try more lipglosses. Lipglosses for a Lipgloss Snob is a series of posts that highlights my favourite lipgloss formulas at the moment.

Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses in Peony and Bordeaux

I remember when Revlon came out with the Colorburst lipstick line. Everybody raved about them (including me, naturally!) but I didn’t hear much about the lipgloss formula when it came out later on. Just like the well-loved lipstick formula, the Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss (around $10) is worth talking about.

Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses in Peony and Bordeaux

The Revlon Colorburst lipglosses pack a great amount of pigment and shine. Peony is a gorgeous pinky-peach with gold sparkles, while Bordeaux is a stunning deep berry with barely there sparkle. Both colours, worn alone or atop lipstick, are very flattering. Stickiness factor here is zero. Not sticky at all, guys!

Revlon Black Cherry Lipstick + Bordeaux Lipgloss

In my opinion, these are hidden gems at the drugstore. I’d say I love Bordeaux as much as my Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Fatale. Did I just compare a Revlon to a Chanel just now? Yes, yes I did. :)

Have you tried these? Do you have a favourite lipgloss from the drugstore?
