The birds are singing. The sun is shining. The last of the snow has melted away. Spring is finally here! After a long winter of hiding, I am shedding my layers. It’s time to shine!
With the change of seasons, I have been doing some spring cleaning (ah it feels so good!) and revamping my routine. My hair is colour-treated and I am more regularly curling my hair. That, paired with wearing winter hats has left my hair pretty dry and dull over the past few months.
Enter L’Oreal’s Nutri-Shimmer Crystal line. I’ve been testing out the line, and boy, my hair has reached a whole new level of glossy! We’re talking Duchess Kate-level glossy brown.
Look Ma, they contain actual shimmer! I put the Nutri-Shimmer Crystal Shampoo, Instant Miracle, and Conditioner to the test in that order.
My hair has actually never been this shiny! Using this hair care line makes my hair manageable and extra straight, even when I just naturally air dry. Naturally air-drying does make my hair fall flat at the roots, so I’d rather blow dry with a round brush to get that lift that I love. I think those with curly hair will like this line a lot, as it eliminates frizz really well.
New shiny hair requires perfectly lit up skin. Hands up if the winter has turned your skin dull and grey. The spring season triggers my tendency to highlight all the things! With a highlighting powder or light champagne eyeshadow, I go to town! On it goes atop my cheekbones, brow bones, and my eyes’ inner corners for big, fresh eyes that twinkle.
My favourite way to shine? My smile. I use a whitening toothpaste and mouthwash, but if you know me, I just can’t get away from my coffee! To make my teeth shine and look extra white, I opt for a blue-based lipstick, like this perfect dark glossy red.
