In recent years, I’ve adopted a rule of “no pastels,” knowing that they clash with my warm and medium skin tone. This spring, I don’t know what happened. I’m all about lilac errthang. I can’t get enough of it!
Ever since I got a lilac pedicure on my visit to Pause Beauty Boutique, I’ve discovered that I can wear lilac and it is just so pretty! When I saw this glorious lilac wedding dress from Sareh Nouri Spring 2015 collection, that’s it; I had to create a colour mood board dedicated to lovely lilacs.
L’Oreal Professionnel Hairchalk in First Date Violet ($25 at select salons). This isn’t a dry chalk and so it’s not like the hair chalks from other brands. It’s a liquid colour in a bottle that you apply with a sponge on a section of your hair. Then, you blow dry the section to make the colour adhere to your hair. As you can see, First Date Violet appeared vibrant on my medium brown highlights, and it stayed on for about 5 washes. It’s also available in pink, blue, green, coral, bronze, gold, and black. You can even mix the colours to customize your hair chalk (pink + gold = rose gold!). I found no colour transfer on my pillow case or clothes with this, although I did find the sections of my hair to feel a bit more gritty than its usual super smooth texture.
Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in Vibrant Light ($42). This eyeshadow palette from Clarins Spring 2014 collection go on sheerly, but the colours are so pretty for that whisper of happy colour this spring. They can be worn dry or wet for more intense colour. I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow these days, but I feel like this beautiful eye palette needs to be taken for a spin. Edit: I Instagrammed a look here. Check out Karen’s look on Makeup and Beauty Blog to see it in action.

CND Vinylux in Lilac Longing ($11). I wore it on my toes and I had to work to take it off. The Vinylux formula is a winner for those who tend to ruin their manicures 10 minutes after application because it dries very quickly. Nothing but love for Lilac Longing. Need it.
Gap fitted boyfriend swiss dot shirt ($59.95). I haven’t even seen this in person, but I’ll probably buy it online as I usually do with Gap. Polka dots and lilac = so. much. fun.
bkr glass water bottle in Rex ($35 for 500 ml) c/o Eco Diva Beauty. I love my bkr. I go everywhere with it, which means I get my daily recommended water intake. And I mean, it’s cute, no? My co-worker said it looks like I’m drinking shampoo. Hahaha. But my favourite part of my bkr is the cap, which makes it so easy to carry even when I have my hands full. I love my Rex. I also have it in Kitten. Meow!
