Friends don’t let friends miss out on a great sale. I was casually looking through Sephora the other day while planning out how to spend my $15 of $50 gift card. Here it is; the sale: MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultimate Long Lasting Lip Set is on sale at Sephora right meow! It now sells for $118, marked down from $168. That’s 30% off. Chhhyyyeah, that’s a good deal.
So. I’m sitting here with lips that are slightly raw after swatching six pairs of the most long lasting lip liners and lipsticks on Earth. This is how much I love you guys! Read on to see the shades in action.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip in 8C and Aqua Rouge in 8. Classic vibrant red. Universally flattering and teeth whitening!
MUFE Aqua Lip in 8C and Aqua Rouge in 8 Red
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip in 2C and Aqua Rouge in 2. Deep plummy rose. Not my favourite on me, but this would be a great starter bold lip for cool skin tones.
MUFE Aqua Lip in 2C and Aqua Rouge in 2 Rosewood
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip in 14C and Aqua Rouge in 14. Medium brown. The liner actually leans more rose-y and is super pretty, but the lipstick is straight up brown. Great nude for darker skin tones, but everyone else might not like it.
MUFE Aqua Lip in 14C and Aqua Rouge in 14 Light Rosewood
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip in 10C and Aqua Rouge in 10. Vibrant berry. Soooo sassy! Makes me feel like I’m a flapper from the ’20s. I love this one!
MUFE Aqua Lip in 10C and Aqua Rouge in 10 Raspberry
Aqua Lip in 16C and Aqua Rouge in 16. Bright fuchsia. My favourite of the bunch. Brightens the face and teeth like no other.
MUFE Aqua Lip in 16C and Aqua Rouge in 16 Fuchsia
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip in 18C and Aqua Rouge in 18. Vibrant coral. So neon! I built it up here to the max, but I like to wear this with a sheer application like I wore here this past summer.

You might be asking: do I really need the lip liners that match the lipsticks if they are so long-wearing? My answer is yes. These lipsticks are tricky to apply cleanly inside my lip lines.
Have you spent your Beauty Insider / VIB gift card yet? What did you buy? I’m thinking of picking up another shade of my beloved NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30), and something else. Maybe Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Bourbon ($23). I don’t know… I keep going back and forth. Difficult decisions, I know.
