Clearly, I got brows on my mind. Can we talk about Lily Collins for a sec? Beauty-wise, the girl can do no wrong. Gorgeous big eyes and the face of an angel, and of course, those brows!
Oh, my, god, Becky. Look at her brows. They are so big.

Since Benefit is a brand of brow experts, it’s only fitting that I use my favourite Benefit products to showcase my very own Lily Collins-inspired big brow look. Benefit Brow Bars are well known in North America to shape brows into ones that suit your own face! In Canada, there are three Benefit Brow Bars within Sephora: one in Montreal at Dix 30, and in Toronto at Sherway Gardens and Yorkdale Mall.
So, let’s talk about how to get those gorgeous, full brows, shall we? I personally have a lot of brow hair, but they are quite sparse near the centre of my face. Here’s a before.
Benefit Gimme Brow and Brow Zings
When applying Benefit Brow Zings, first apply the wax, then the brow powder.
Next up: my new, can’t-live-without product: Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep ($26). *angels singing*
Using Benefit Gimme Brow
If you crave more volume on your brows (yes yes YES!), Gimme Brow is the one product for you. If you’re a lazy girl who’s always running late with only two minutes to get ready, Gimme Brow is an absolute must-have. In a pinch, my two minute face is under eye concealer, sheer lipgloss and Gimme Brow. Instantly bright and awake face! For this look, I applied two layers of Gimme Brow to get my biggest brows, evah.
For the rest of the face, I used the following products.
Boxed Powder in Rockateur, Girl Meets Pearl, Longwear Powder Shadow in Nude Swings, Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit, Hydrasmooth Lip Colour in Swing Thing
To get the look, I highlight the face with Girl Meets Pearl. Using my clean fingers, I just went crazy with Girl Meets Pearl: the middle of my forehead, down the bridge of the nose, on the top of the cheekbones and brow bones, cupid’s bow and chin. Yeah, pretty much everywhere. Girl loves her glow, can you tell? On the apples of the cheeks, I applied the beautiful rose gold Rockateur.
The eyes are also ridiculously simple. With a finger, I swiped on Birthday Suit Creaseless Cream Shadow all over the lid, on the inner corners and along the lower lash line. Then I follow up with the pretty peachy nude Nude Swings Longwear Powder Shadow. I have BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner on my waterlines (top and bottom) and lash lines. On the lash lines I smudged it with a brush for a softer effect. My bottom lashes got a coat of They’re Real Mascara. My top lashes aren’t real.
Oh hello, lash extensions from Fembotika, who else!
For the rose-gold lips, I stamped on Hydra Smooth Lip Color in Swing Thing and spread it out with my fingers. Then I applied Girl Meets Pearl (again!) on top. So pretty! It’s probably not lip safe (it tastes kinda bitter), but for this look I just couldn’t help myself! Glow all the things!
The finished look
The poor girl’s Lily Collins LA Times Magazine cover, LOL!
The problem with big brow looks isn’t the brows themselves, because let’s face it, they’re fabulous! The problem — as in most cases — is men. Whenever I wear my brows on the bolder side, Mr. Geeks makes a comment along the lines of “Your brows are too thick” while making this face –> x-|. Wuh eva.
Just like bold lipstick, thick brows may just be a “girl hot” thing. And you know what? I’m totally okay with that.
Tell me, have you met a guy who loves the big brow look on girls? Have you tried Benefit Gimme Brow yet?
