My Wedding Fragrance: Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

Our wedding day has come and gone, and it was perfect. I have so many beautiful memories of that day: the smell of the wet leaves on that cold rainy October day, the moment I finally saw Mr. Geeks before he became my husband, the overwhelming feeling of love and joy we felt that day.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

This fragrance, which I wore for the first time on our wedding, brings back all these happy memories every time I wear it. Jo Malone Peony & Blush SuedeΒ ($70 for 30 ml, $130 for 100 ml at Holt Renfrew, Nordstrom) is the new romantic fragrance from the brand. From the brand, Peony & Blush Suede is “the essence of charm. Peonies in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtatious with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft, blush suede. Luxurious and seductive.”

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

To me, this is an exquisite bouquet of flowers. I don’t smell the top note of red apple at all. I’m not familiar with the scent of peonies, but I do smell roses + another flower at the heart of this fragrance. So that must be the peony. πŸ™‚ After a couple of hours, Peony & Blush Suede develops into something warm, cozy and a little bit masculine as the suede note surfaces. Suede adds a leathery quality to the fragrance, which stops it from being another floral fragrance. It smells like skin, but prettier.Β Luuuurve.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

Peony & Blush Suede captures the romantic feeling on a cool day in the fall or early spring, when the air is just cold enough to wear your favourite cozy sweater and leather boots. If you love floral fragrances, then you definitely must get a sniff. Those who are more inclined to warm, musky scents might still find something to love here.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

To me, Peony & Blush Suede will always be the fragrance that will forever remind me of that rainy day in October, when I felt an outpouring of love all around. When I smiled and laughed so much that my cheeks hurt. When we caught ourselves admiring our new wedding bands on our ring fingers. When I walked back to the hotel at two in the morning, holding hands with my best friend. πŸ™‚

Have you tried Peony & Blush Suede? What do you think of it? What fragrance did you wear (or are planning to wear) on your wedding day?

P.S. Happy to be back blogging regularly (I hope!). I’d love to know what’s new with you. What have you been up to?

  • Hey Geeks, yaaaay I’m glad to hear you had a great day! I have sniffed this one. It is indeed very nice, something I can imagine a bride wearing πŸ˜‰

    • I would definitely categorize this as a bridal fragrance, Sunny! πŸ™‚

  • Sarah P

Congratulations! I love hearing about what others wore on their wedding day. It sounds beautiful!

  • Oh, Arianne. I’m so pleased to hear that your wedding day was so special, and that you found the perfect scent for it. I’m about to run out the door, but I just wanted to say — these photos (and the way you talk about this perfume) are divine! x

    • Thank you, Rae! That means a lot coming from you. I realize this is my first real fragrance review, with emotions and everything! LOL

  • Aww, Geekz, the whole post is really cute πŸ™‚ I haven’t smelt this one yet… I feel a trip to the Jo Malone counter coming soon!

    • Thanks Monika! I’m already lusting over Jo Malone Red Roses, too. I think it’ll layer well with Peony & Blush Suede. I think I need it for birthday month (next month!). πŸ™‚

  • Aww! This was a beautiful post! Congratulations on your wonderful wedding day. You’re giving me goose bumps! I love the idea of debuting a new fragrance on your wedding day, and I’ve been searching for one. I need to go on a massive smell-a-thon soon! Doesn’t Jo Malone have something involving chiffon and orange blossoms?!? I love citrus scents so I will have to investigate…

Welcome back, girl! And congratulations, again! Much love!

    • Thanks girl! πŸ™‚ Jo Malone does have Orange Blossom cologne, which is also DIVINE. I am a sucker for white florals.

I also want a couple of other things from the Jo Malone counter… uh oh!

  • I’m not even close to getting married so I’m not quite sure. But I def want to try this scent now as I used to love floral fragrances but I’ve been leaning more towards warm, musky scents lately

  • Awww I absolutely love this, so sweet! It’s a beautiful scent, I have a sample from my last Jo Malone purchase. For some reason it reminds me of champagne, NO IDEA why.

    • LOL, MM. I guess there’s a sharpness to it in the beginning. That must be the champagne. πŸ˜‰

  • I think of peonies as slightly spicy, but I’m not sure if that’s right, lol! Congratulations again, Geeks! I wore YSL Parisienne and S wore the dude version (I forget what it’s called, Homme something prolly :P) since that was the first fragrance I ever owned…which we picked out together. OMG so sappy this morning, I have to go, lol!

    • BWAHAHHAA Larie <3 <3 <3. I like you mushy. LOL

I love YSL fragrances! Parisienne is beautiful. Is it La Nuit de L'Homme? That men's cologne is intoxicating! <3

  • Skin, but prettier…love that description! Jo Malone is one of my favorite brands and I am so happy this scent reminds you of such a beautiful day!

    • Thanks Margo. πŸ˜€ What’s your go-to from Jo Malone?

  • dowantmakeup

This is a beautiful post, Arianne TT___TT Congratulations on your big day (and your first perfume post!)
I do love me some peony, must remember to have a sniff when I see it.

    • Thanks so much Angela! πŸ˜€ Oooh, do share your fave peony fragrances so I can get familiar with the note!

      • dowantmakeup

Versace Bright Crystal, one of my very first big perfume purchases and still a favourite :> I don’t know of many peony perfumes–I love the scent mainly because we grow peonies in our front yard πŸ˜‰ But I have heard good things about Chloe and L’Occitane Pivoine.

  • You make me want this so bad.
