The Looks of Summer 2013

The Looks of Summer 2013 by Glitter Geek

As we are finally transitioning into spring season, it’s time to look at what lies ahead for Summer 2013 makeup collections. Surprise surprise! Radiant, bronzed skin is in at Giorgio ArmaniBobbi Brown, MAC, Laura Mercier and Clarins. The most surprising collection — or I really should say shocking — is Chanel. This atypical Chanel collection brings vibrant colours inspired by butterfly wings, including four brightly coloured mascaras (blue, aqua, lime and yellow). My favourite visuals and collections — I can’t choose just one! — are from Dior and YSL. The beauty blogger world is all abuzz about the Dior Nude Tan Paradise Blush and Bronzer Duos. I’ve only started to discover the items from YSL’s Marrakesh-inspired collection, but I fall in love with each new product as I apply it for the first time. The coral glossy stain I used here is a must-see! NARS and Revlon will make colour junkies very happy with all the punchy colours their little hearts desire. :)

What new collection and/or product release are you most excited about for this summer? I’d love to hear it and maybe, build the wishlist! :D

For some reason I am drawn to the Clarins look. Not typical of me as I generally opt for vibrant lips in summer. I can see myself duplicating the Laura Mercier image and the color combination of Chanel is very appealing. I’m a little concerned with YSL…the collection’s shade range is lovely, but what exactly is going on in that promo image?!

LOLOLOL the horsey thing is trying to cuddle on her boob. So weird! But I LOVE the makeup, and the sunset colours in the background.

The Clarins look is so mesmerizing. When I first saw it I actually stopped and stared. :)

Thanks for collecting these images. ?? on the Bobbi Brown nude, gorgeous model but she needs a swimsuit or something… also the very strange YSL ad. What in the world? Mating with a minotaur in ’80s hair and makeup? Sort of a turn off. The others are really fun. and you left out Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess campaign, which I look forward to each year. there are some really fun color offerings this summer. I can see myself picking up a blue Chanel or Dior polish duo and maybe one of the Laura Mercier lip crayons. Only in summer do we see the bold colors like bright yellow, turquoise, orange and teal. I wish I weren’t so pale and I could pull off more of these.

I couldn’t find a clear photo of Estee Lauder’s campaign, although I agree with you it is beautiful!

The Bobbi Brown collection is called Nude Beach, hence the naked model. I actually like the hair and makeup in the YSL ad, but I don’t know what happened to the rest of it…

I ilke the Chanel look the best – and from the artistic point I’m into YSL,
the least attractive to me is Bobbi Brown (again) – the hair, the makeup, the accecsories naaaahhh … I love this overview :)

Omg, I was just thinking the same thing before I read what you wrote – Chanel is so unlike Chanel! But I love it!! I think my favorite is Clarins – natural & gorgeous. And I’m loving Emma Stone as a Revlon model :)

Brands are really killing it this summer! I’m kind of meh about spring even though this year was far from the worst spring I’ve seen, so I’m very happy to see these. It’s true it’s not typical Chanel, but I’ve found Chanel can do whatever they want and get away with it because they do it so well. Definitely my favorite collection of the season, although Dior’s giving them a run for their money.
