No Makeup Makeup: Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick and Corrector Reviews, Photos, Swatches

I got a chance to test out two of Bobbi Brown’s best selling products, so I immediately jumped at the opportunity to review them here. :) I received Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in 4.5 Warm Natural ($50 online, in Sephora, Murale and Holt Renfrew) and Corrector in Peach ($30) and have been using them for a week so it’s time for a closer look.

The Foundation Stick in Warm Natural has strong golden undertones, and so it warms up and brightens my complexion nicely. It’s a great match for my skin because I am on the yellow side of the spectrum. It’s been a while since I have used a cream foundation, and so I can certainly tell that this feels heavier than the lightweight liquid foundations I’ve tried of late. It is an incredibly versatile formula; it can be sheered out by using a wet sponge (I used a damp Beauty Blender) or can be applied as a creamy full-coverage concealer. It’s no wonder that Bobbi Brown recommends it for everyone’s purse. :) It lasts an exceptionally long time, easily wearing through a normal work day.

The Corrector in Peach is fantastic for cancelling out darkness under my eyes and around my mouth. This is a hard but creamy formula (say what?!), and needs to be set with a powder in order to stay in place. I think it is the perfect base for a concealer. I know my favourite under eye concealer, NARS Radiant Creamy, will look even more radiant on top of Peach Corrector.

So the first thing I do is draw a warrior mask on my face with the Bobbi Foundation Stick. ;) You can also pick up product from the tube on to your brush, but this is how I use it with a Beauty Blender sponge. I concentrate around the nose, mouth, and cheeks area where I need the most coverage.

I’m a warrior. RAWR!

Once that’s blended, I dot the product on areas that need more coverage (blemishes and redness). I pat that in with my finger.

I then apply the Corrector in Peach under and the corners of my eyes.

Bobbi Brown Before and After

The Foundation Stick doesn’t set on the skin and feels tacky after application, so a light dusting of powder is definitely recommended. You can see that my skin looks very dewy with the Foundation Stick and Corrector alone.

Without powder / With Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (review)

I know it’s not meant to be a setting powder, but I love to set my makeup with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light all over my face for a little extra sumthin’ sumthin’. I think these products go so well together, don’t you think?

Rather than a wet sponge, do you think I could buff this out with a flat topped brush? Sponges sort of creep me out T_T

Also, I use the corrector in the same shade! LOL. My undereye circles are DARK. Lighter shades just make me look ashy. Zombified!

Definitely! You can pick up the product with your flat top brush directly from the stick and buff on. :)

I don’t see that much difference between the before/after. You have gorgeous skin!

Think that the foundation stick would be okay for combination/oily skin? It would be so handy but creams don’t sit well on my skin.

Hi Liz! I think it’ll work. It lasts all day on me, so it certainly has grip. Kinda like a slightly tacky Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. As long as you powder I think it should be good. It blends into the skin like nothing.

You can maybe try to get them to slice a bit for you at Sephora. :)

Fabulous post, Adrienne! I’ve always been curious about the foundation stick but wasn’t sure how it worked. Thanks for the pictures! You look great, and like you’re not even wearing makeup – your skin is just naturally perfect! ;)

Whoa you pretty!!! I think I’ve tried both during a workshop and like the foundation stick quite a bit. My problem with Bobbi Brown Correctors/concealers is that they always make my lower lash line smudge. I’ve never bought one because the same thing happens every time someone demos the products on me. The foundation stick looks so super natural this way, though your bare skin looks great to begin with ;)

why are you so pretty? and your skin is looking so perfect, I love the last picture so much, you have such a happy smile >.< This foundation won't work on my dry skin, neither does the concealer but it looks really natural on you. xxx

What before after photo? Your skin looks so good without makeup, you can just get away without foundation!! You’re not doing the foundation any justice, Geekz… tsk tsk tsk… your skin is just too good, I really didn’t see any difference >_< HAHAHA!

You have great skin to begin with tbh, I barely see a difference ;). I always found the idea of a stick foundation weird in a way but now I can see that it does have it’s advantages. The corrector in peach I tried before, it’s very creamy on me, so I really needed a setting powder! I love how you set the foundation with Dim Light, it gives you that extra subtle glow! ^^

You are such a beauty! That skin! I have always wanted to try the foundation stick, you have made it look so natural and invisible. The corrected does not work for me, sadly. I know so many people love it. I need a heavy duty under eye concealer. I can see it brightens your eyes in the most natural way. I think this works for you :-)

Flawless! Perfect with Ambient lighting – good call!

You skin always looks fantastic. This looks very natural. For some reason foundation sticks intimidate me a bit! I have a feeling it wouldn’t last on my oily skin very long.
