Suffering from BBB: Beauty Blogging Burnout

Benefit Feelin Dandy 2
Right now, I’m not as cute as I was in my snow bunny look.

Bah, winter. February has to be the most frustrating month. It’s really cold, and the end of winter seems so far away. Hence I’m suffering from beauty blogging burnout. ๐Ÿ™ I feel as though I’m always behind… there are always new products coming in and I can’t physically feature them all. Gah!

Since I like doing makeup looks, I’m going to try a new format for a little while… maybe some looks using the products with short blurbs on how I like them. I might also do more step-by-step picture tutorials. Any suggestions? They would be much appreciated. I had these photos saved on my desktop for a while; maybe I’ll tackle these looks.

Love Sophia Loren. Her bone structure is just insane.

  • I think we all suffer from a bbb at some point, I had mine like a half year ago, it took me a good while to get the drive back. I honestly like step by step tutorials and looks more then just review after review but that’s preference. You should totally go for it though because I adore your looks and I’m sure I’m not the only one ;). Hope you feel that spark back soon dear, but in the meanwhile, just enjoy yourself!

    • Hi Teri! Me too, but there’s a constant push for product features that it gets so overwhelming. Thanks!

  • Pllleeeeeeasse do the Chenman look! You know I’m waiting on a smokey eye tutorial. Blend away, girl, no one does it like you! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I will do it today, as we have a snow day!!! Full day doing a tutorial haha

  • I’ve come to accept the fact that I simply cannot “review” everything. Once you open yourself up to the possibilities of featuring products in different ways… looks, news, games, theme posts… you’ll find yourself much more liberated and less overwhelmed. I’ve even come to realize that some brands appreciate being featured in ways other than just reviews. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • That’s really great to hear Jessica, thanks for the tip! Time to get creative brain working. It’s still in the back there, somewhere.

  • Oooh yes please! I actually just responded to your comment reply in the post before this asking for a tutorial ๐Ÿ˜› I would love to see more! And that 2nd Chenman look=glorious!! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Hahaha I just saw that, Becca! Smokey eye it is then!

  • Aww I know what you mean. Sometimes it feels like you have all the new products chasing after you and biting you in the a*! This is supposed to be fun, not extra workload! I hope you’ll find a way to balance things out soon, Arianne ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks Sunny! They’re all staring. ๐Ÿ™

  • I think that’s a great idea! Your looks and photography are stellar! It’s hard to feel inspired when you’re really overwhelmed. Do what works for you and your happiness and satisfaction will shine through. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • i bet you are cute!! lol i’m having a tough time keeping up with reviews too, and there are only a handful of seasonal products i want to get to! anyway, i love the chenman image and would love to see a look inspired by it! and whatever posts you do, i’m sure i’ll like them!

  • I’ve come to a point where I feel like I just can’t afford every new product that comes out. And it’s hard to keep reviewing new material when every thing is so expensive. I agree, winter is giving me the BBB as well.

  • Girl, I feel ya on this one. And honestly – I think the yucky cold weather def has something to do with it with me!! Cold temps shut me down and I need warmer weather to be inspired by! I’m a southern girl, so go figure:) I say you do whatever makes you happy- it’s your blog – do things your way!!
