Aperture, my dear. That app and my new light has brought my product photos to a whole ‘nother level. :) Thanks Rae!

      Got it, Chris. :)

Isn’t the collection amazing! Can’t wait to see what look you put together! What light did you get? One light did that! I made a light box but it’s not working for me at all. Of course maybe I need an SLR to let more light in. *sigh* Endless shopping lists!

It’s a 300W flood light + an umbrella to bounce it off. Works extremely well and I use it for my looks now, too. Very happy with it!

It definitely works amazing! You’ve looked like a glowy angel in all your recent look posts! I have been wanting to get a light like that but I think hubs would lose his shit! LOL I don’t know where I’d put it. And if the kids broke it I’d die. I want though. So you have found 1 to be sufficient? Where did you find that was good to ship to Canada or did you get in person? THANKS!

          It’s this guy: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/552465-REG/Impact_V_201_Qualite_300_Focusing_Flood.html

The stand and umbrella fold up and are very compact. They ship from NY and you have to pay duties on it. Best gift ever (it was from Mr. Geeks after seeing me in constant agony over lighting).

What a great guy! Was it a total surprise? I hate struggling over lighting and being so reliant on the weather. I still have concerns over my camera not letting in enough light but I know a light like this would be more effective than my lightbox set up which has yet to be used. My photos are just way too grey and dark with it. My Canon is the one just below and DSLR and takes great macro shots but I wonder if the light quality would be that much better with a better camera? Why can I not stop spending money. :(
I have looked into Aperture too. Have you found you don’t use photoshop anymore or do you still need it for collages etc?
Thanks so much for the info Arianne!

If your camera can shoot RAW instead of JPEG that will help a lot. I don’t have a DSLR but my camera shoots RAW so it’s very easy to bump up the exposure on Aperture.

I still do the same stuff on Aperture as I was doing on Photoshop (Levels, Curves, White balance, retouching random ugly things). So I just use Photoshop for collages yes.

              • http://twitter.com/PerilouslyPale Christa

I have no idea if it shoots in RAW. I have never even looked at the manual and we’ve had it for YEARS. I’m the kinda person that just starts playing with something to figure it out. I bet a good review of the manual would be helpful huh? LOL

OK me AGAIN LOL. Did that light come with stand and umbrella. Product description looks like it definitely does not but a lot of the reviews mention the as if they were included? Which stand and umbrella did you get to use with it? Thanks!

BTW it’s not just lighting that does this. I find because I have more light that it is easier for me to edit the photo’s white balance and levels in Aperture.

I’m not 100% sure about the palette, but everything else looks GOOD! That coral lip stain, come to mommy!

The peach glossy stain and the Jade Imperial polish are the 2 items calling to me most. So pretty!!! :D
