I’m going to spare you the long-winded introduction that you probably never ever read anyway. I am really this excited to tell you about this drugstore gem that I just discovered. It’s called Annabelle Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencil ($8.95) and it is sensational. I have it in Acaidisiac, a limited edition bright turquoise.
Annabelle Smoothie Eyeshadow pencils are cream eyeshadows or eyeliners in jumbo pencil format. They go on the lids very opaque and creamy for effortless blending with a brush or finger. They promise more than 9 hours of comfortable wear without creasing, smudging or melting.

Did it deliver? Oh, did it ever! On my slip-’n-slidey eyelids, I wore this without any eye primer before I went out for a day in the park. It was very humid and on top of that, this sweaty girl rode her bike by the lake. Ten hours later, my eye makeup was still in tact. Seriously amazing, yes?
Annabelle also claims that the pencils are waterproof, and this is mostly true. I found that it faded a little when I put a puddle of water on my eyelids and blotted. Yes, I know it’s extreme, but what if I get caught under a really bad storm? 
After seeing this colour, I got inspired to recreate a look from the Christian Dior S/S 2011 RTW runway, featuring bright colour blocking makeup. It’s quite clowny and costume-y in person, but damn was it ever fun to recreate!

The lashes are staying on amazingly well. This is just over two weeks here. I don’t think I’m going to keep them though. They don’t feel like my own lashes. They’re not heavy heavy, but they feel like crispy mascara’d lashes, you know?
Incredible look! I think you can totally make this wearable with a nude lip. Blues make your eyes pop

Heh, the turquoise eye is actually one of my usual looks, albeit (a teeny bit) more toned down for look than when I wore it to the club. Are these anything like the MAC shadesticks? I loved those, but they d/c’d most of the good colours.
… And the black one was great as a base for smokey eye, but also incredibly fun when playing w duochromes.
I have never used them, but from what I’ve read, these are the same idea. This might even be better as they don’t drag on the eyelid at all. I read that Shadesticks can be too dry that they drag.
Annabelle has a black too now, which I wanna get actually.

I love the Sephora Jumbo Liner 12-Hr Wear Waterproof Pencils. They are surprisingly creamy and extremely long wearing considering the $10 price tag!
Oh I’ve seen those before; Bloomin’ Beauty was it? I want to try those and compare. I have a feeling they are identical in formula.

Your version of this look doesn’t look clowny at all — it’s just awesome. I’ve been on the fence about the picking the smoothies up. I’ve seen some good reviews, but I guess I don’t really get why the eyeshadow needs to be in a stick, as opposed to pressed. It feels kind of gimmicky to me. But with this review in mind, I think I might give them a shot.
I understand where you’re coming from, Jilliterate. But it is just a different format. You know, how eyeliners come in powder, pencil, gel, liquid formats. I like this product in particular for a quick wash on the lid since it can be easily blended with a finger. Plus it gets rid of the need for eye primer.

I think you did a great job of recreating the look. It’s funny how certain things can look beautiful in a photograph but IRL they have to be tweaked to be wearable?
I tend to dislike shadow pencils but i’d definitely pick these up as a liner.
