Totally Worth All The Hype: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush.

I adore a good blush. My collection is not quite as massive as Tracy’s, but it’s of a good size.  I can tell you now that none of my powder blushes are as good as this: the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush ($33).

A little background on my skin: it’s oily.  Very oily.  My powder blushes — even the NARS ones — don’t stand a chance on my cheeks when I wear them all day.  My skin makes the stuff melt off after just a few hours of applying them.

When I bought Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful, my life totally changed.  Colours now appear brighter.  Food is more delicious.  The sky is even bluer. 🙂  You get the point, this stuff is the

Why is it awesome?  First, I just love that Tarte is a natural line.  The pigmentation of the blush is out of this world.  The finish is so natural; it is neither totally matte nor shimmery.  Aaaaaand today, it lasted through the sticky, thunder-storming day we had in Toronto.  Hallelujah!

So, to sum up, here’s the lesson of the day:  yes, you need this.  I don’t know how I lived before this touched my cheeks.  Seriously holy grail material.

  • Ugh, I am hearing all sorts of raves about this product! I can’t believe I gave myself a makeup budget 🙁

    • It’s really good, Emily! When does your makeup budget gets reset? Every month? I have one, too, and I’m already WAY overbudget this month. 🙁

  • I was holding off on these for awhile (heaven only knows why) until I caved last week and bought Natural Beauty which I can best describe as a rich tomato red. I AM IN LOVE. I absolutely feel the need to own them all!

    You look adorable in both!
    ♥ Jessica

    • LOL Jessica, seriously? Why? 😛

Oh my god I really want Natural Beauty, too! I think that’ll be my next purchase for sure.

      • I’ve been on this “I spend too much money on makeup and need to control my impulses kick.” Which succeeds just about as well as dieting/quitting smoking cold turkey! Needless to say, these blushes have been my spending ban downfall!

  • I have Blissful and totally loving it!

    • Hey Appu! Isn’t it nice? I’m in love with it!

  • aaaah, you are making me want to try these so muuuch 😀 Will definitely check them out!
    Great review 🙂

    • Enjoy them if you do, Magui! 🙂

  • Hahaha! Love the post! You look great in both! Thanks for the link chick! 🙂

  • blissful looks SO gorgeous on you! i can’t wait til i can purchase one 😀

    • Blissful is seriously perfection on medium skintones. Hope you can get it soon!

  • I’m glad you posted about this, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the blushes, but never really heard any details about it.

I’m adding this to my wishlist, I have the same problem (oily skin, blush never lasts long) so this definitely seems up my ally.

    • I hope it works just as well for you, Arezu! I really do like them tons!

  • I got a sample of Tipsy before the hype even started and was wondering why everyone was talking about them… I wanted another blush and the sephora girl suggested tipsy to me. It’s gorgeous and very pigmented as you say.

They look lovely on you. I’d love to know how you got them as PR samples.

    • Tipsy is beautiful! I was deciding between that and Blissful, but snatched the latter because it was the last one.

  • After reading all the raves on this blush, I’ve checked it out 3 times and haven’t been convinced to get it. I have dry skin & depending on the blush, some last and some don’t. I guess I am on the fence and need to be pushed one way or another.

    • I think you’ll like them Marisol. They’re not powdery at all. They just sorta meld into your skin, you know? *pushes you over to Sephora*

  • Reaaally wanna try Blissful.. Looks amaaazing.. And like you blush doesn’t stay put on me either althought I have combination skin.. Normal/dry cheeks and oily t-zone..

Thanks heaps for ur review.. Always a pleasure to read =)

    • I think you’ll like this, Delyteful. 🙂 It’s absolutely perfect.

  • Looks great on you, I need this. <3

    • You totally need it. 😉

  • I have Blissful too, and I love it! I want to collect them all too – it’s like Pokemon! 😛

    • Hahahaha best comment ever. Yes Larie, like Pokemon. 😉

  • Jen

    want! need!! Lusting!!!!
My blush never lasts either… am gonna have to give this a try when I get back from TW… do you know if these are avail in stores so I can pick colors that way? so hard to choose when there are so many beautiful colors 🙁

    • They are out in Sephora now! 🙂 They are selling like hotcakes!

  • Blissful looks absolutely stunning on you, it gives your cheeks the prettiest flush, like you were outside for a great walk, a healthy glow/flush. Beautiful <3

    • Thanks Beatrice! That’s exactly how I feel about Blissful. 🙂

  • Rae

Okay, that’s it. Your photos are officially better than mine; we’re not friends anymore!

But seriously, girl, these look absolutely freakin’ fantastic. *hugs* ^^

    • LOL thanks Rae! Sorry I’m better than you. 😉

  • I almost bought one the other day but went for a NARS instead. To be honest, I had trouble picking a colour since I wanted 4 different colours!

  • Now, I am curious to try out Tarte blushes. Have read good reviews on them. And the shades look good on you.

Love the embossed design on the blush too.
