Booty Camp Update: Halfway Through My 8-Week Challenge! BOOM!

My Booty Camp New You Challenge is in full swing now that I’m in week 4 of 8!  You know what that means — it’s measurements week!

Measurement Start Week 4
Upper Arm (left) 10.75 9.75
Upper Arm (right) 10.25 9.75
Chest 34 33
Waist 33.75 32.75
Hips 35.5 34
Buttocks 39.5 37.5
Upper Thigh (left) 24.5 22.75
Upper Thigh (right) 24.5 22.75
My Total Inches 212.75 202.25

Did I actually lose 10.5 inches already?  (In the words of my friend Marisol, BOOM!)I have been working really really hard over the past four weeks and I guess the hard work paid off.  These numbers are so close to my final goal that well, I have to set a higher goal for week 8.

Today I’m leaving you with a few things that are working really well for me at the moment.  I hope it’ll help you out as well. :)

  1. I’m watching what I eat with My Fitness Pal. I have an app on my iPhone that helps me track my calories in and calories burned during my workouts, so I can easily “budget” my food for the day.  I find that I’m not so good on weekends, but as long as I’m good on most days, I don’t let that get me down.  If you’re on My Fitness Pal as well, let’s be friends!
  2. We just built a garage gym. We are renting a garage in our apartment building, and we have transformed it into a little gym with mats, weights, skipping rope, and a bench.  I’ve only used it once so far, but it is way better than having to keep my feet quiet while working out inside a tiny apartment.
  3. I got a measuring tape. Yeah, I know it’s really scary, but it’s a really good motivator.  Those numbers will never lie.  I got the Orbitape from a gym supplies store, and it is awesome.

Got a Fitness Goal, Too?

How’s it going so far? Any progress? Let me know how you keep yourself motivated.

  1. Do you use the booty camp dvd at home as well? I can’t afford to go to the classes in person but I have a copy of the dvd, and I’m wondering if it’s the same workout, or modified (simpler, shorter, etc. etc.). Either way, it’s a tough workout! I couldn’t even get past the first set of exercises today… but I’m just starting out, so I’ve gotta give myself credit for trying! Kudos to you for coming as far as you have!

    • Hi Becca! I do the DVD at home as well, yes. I’d say the intensity is the same as the intermediate and advanced workouts. The big difference, I find, is the space though. In real booty camp we run around basketball courts or small parks, and it’s hard to get the same workout at home.

It is really tough in the beginning, but if you keep at it you will definitely see your endurance and strength increase. Good luck! Keep me posted on how you’re doing; perhaps we can trade tips later!

    • LOL! Thanks Elaine. I don’t think I would do as well if I went to MoRoCo last night. I’ll have to indulge in (a little) chocolate after my 8 weeks though, as a reward. :)

  2. Woohoo!!!!! These are great results in just 4 weeks! My biggest problem is watching what I eat…with the 30km training I am running enough, but definitely need to eat better to see results like yours. Keep it up girl…we’re on our way to #skinnybitch status!

    • Thanks Anjali! :) It’s difficult for me to watch my eating, but I’ve trained myself to budget my money, so now I’m just applying it to food. I find it sooooo much easier to budget my money though!
