Let us pause for a moment to take in the beauty that is Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Rose.
Very Chanel-esque with the brand stamp, eh? Well done, Revlon.
The new line of lipsticks just (finally) hit Canadian drugstore shelves and the lipsticks are gorgeous.
This particular colour has been called a dupe for Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. Yesterday Michelle of Lipstick Rules compared the two, and nope. Not a dupe (sadly!).
It is however a stunning colour in its own right. It’s a dark rose colour; something that one might even call a starter red lipstick. I feel so grown up wearing this shade. It screams sophistication.

Of course such a beautiful thing would have some shortcomings. It did have a strange synthetic smell that are usually found in drugstore lipsticks. I de-scented mine by leaving the cap off for 24 hours and it made a lot of difference. It still smells if I put my nose right up to the tube, but not noticeable once it’s on. I also found it quite drying, so layer on the lip balm!
It lasts a pretty long time on me even through drinking lots of water. I don’t think it lasted through lunch, but it definitely stays on longer than my MAC Cremesheen and Lustre lipsticks.
At $10.49 at Rexall Pharmaplus, it’s not that cheap for a drugstore lipstick, so wait for a sale! Rating: A-.
