Brown Eyes: FOTD (2 lip versions!).

We had a nice sunny afternoon in Toronto, and so after @soveryfabulous suggested that it might be a great day for swatching, here I am putting my face on for FOTD! :)

Today’s FOTD consists of browns for the eyes, and two different options for the lips: one for a day look, another to vamp it up a little bit.  For details on how to get it, read on.

Get the Look

Line the upper lash line with a glittery brown pencil.  Smudge out with a pencil brush.  Using a flat shader brush, pack on the shimmery gold beige all over the lid.  Using a fluffy blending brush, apply a matte camel into the crease to create depth.  For even more depth, take a tapered crease brush and apply espresso to the outer lid and outer crease.  Touch up the upper lash line with the glittery brown, and line the lower lash line and waterline.  Apply espresso eye shadow on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line.  Highlight with a shimmery ivory under the brow and inner corners of the eyes. Finish off with a swipe of mascara.  Smile! and apply pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.

      I know eh? I think I prefer the lighter lip for this look though. ;) New York Apple is actually a very wearable red lipstick… I’m not usually one to wear reds regularly but I’ve worn this one a few times already, even to work. Do you own a wearable red?

      Aww thanks! I still think NY Apple needs a lip liner layer underneath for it to pop even more. It’s on the sheer side and needs about 3 coats to get it almost opaque.

    You know, I don’t even think I have a red that I wouldn’t be shy about wearing out and about during the day. Still a bit shy about rocking bold lips! I need to change that asap though, so many pretties in my collection need some loving. I’m really into bright pinks too!

      Oh those lippies need lovin’! I hope you wear one soon. :) I was like that last year, but this year I resolve not to be shy about bold lips. It gives me a nice confidence boost too! You’ll feel like a different woman. ;)

      I like the lighter lip too, Marce! My NY Apple lipstick is fairly new though, so I wanted to take it for a test drive. ;)

    hahahahha love the face you’re making in that last picture. Love the eye look, it’s very natural and glowy. The red lippie’s a beautiful shade, but I think the first lip look balances out the overall look better.

      LOL! That’s my “I”m tired of taking too many pictures, and I’m losing sunlight” face. :P The glowy eye is all because of MAC All That Glitters. :)
