I am a Frustrated Artist.

Aah it’s a lazy Friday. It’s been a lazy week actually. I finished my internship last Friday, and I’ve been bumming around the house a lot.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I took an acrylic painting class last Fall. I love artsy fartsy things and I always wanted to take up an art class (beyond school). So after 10 weeks of 3 hour sessions each, I have 2 paintings to show for it. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but my attention span doesn’t allow me any more than that! lol.

Anyways, I’ve decided to share my paintings with the intarwebz! They’re not originals though. I copied paintings and photographs that I like.

Untitled (original The Studio Boat by Claude Monet)

Message in a Bottle (original Forgotten Bottle from interfacelift.com)

I hope to do a lot more… I just need inspiration, a stop to my laziness / ADD, and time!

My Random Take on a Makeup Tutorial.

Well, I got bored on Monday before bed. I also just got the MAC Spiced Chocolate quad so I really wanted to play with it. Renren did a gorgeous look that I took a stab at.

It’s too bad the colours aren’t showing as vibrant on camera as they are in person. This quad is so beautiful for Fall.

My brother walked by my room past midnight, saw me, and asked:

“Why the hell are you wearing makeup?”
“Because I just got it. And I wanted to try it.”
“What a loser.”

I’m glad my family is taking my makeup addiction very well. lol.

On Shopping and Life: Hold Out for the Best.

Hold out for the best and treat it well when you find it.
– Carrie and Danielle

Sounds like a good relationship advice, right? Yes, but Carrie and Danielle’s post called Cheap is expensive in the long run was actually talking about shopping. Shopping for quality, not quantity. Many times, I think we need to be reminded of this lesson to live more simply, and with less clutter. This also comes at a good time, since school is just around the corner, and I can’t be spending money like I do now. My goal is to stick to buying essential high-quality purchases. Oh man, I know this will take a LOT of self-control…

Back on the topic of relationships, here are a few ways you can treat your partner / friends / family well:

  1. Give them big bear hugs.
  2. Buy them coffee, or their beverage of choice.
  3. Leave nice short notes in random places for them to find.
  4. Say–and mean–your I love yous often.
  5. Always kiss your partner goodnight.

They’ll sure appreciate the gesture. :)
