A Tip on Portion Control.

As you may already know, I have been trying to get in shape for the summer months. I do my share of hard work in the gym. But, although I have drastically changed my eating habits, at the end of the day I still keep having a lot of this evil food: white rice.

I’ve been brought up in a culture that eats white rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And recently I was able to find a tool that controls my rice intake. So, without further ado…

Ah yes, the good ol’ fork. Filipinos like myself are accustomed to eating meals using both a spoon and a fork. This way we can pile on (a lot of) rice into a spoon using a fork. While this is the most effective way to eat, it has also left me stuffed all the time. So I am letting my spoon go. Eating with a fork allows for some food to fall off, and thus I am eating smaller bites and more slowly.

Seems simple (or stupid?), but I never considered it as “portion control” before. I hope at least someone would find it useful.

Bacne Be Gone!

I’m gonna be totally honest here. I have back acne. It’s annoying, itchy, and needless to say, embarrassing. It started around the time when I bought myself a workout bra. I think its fabric is not breathable.

I tried exfoliating, but all to no avail. Then I came across Karen’s post on Makeup and Beauty Blog on Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash. I gave it a try hoping that it will work for me too.

The body wash sells for around CAD$10. I use it with a shower puff to scrub my back. I am actually surprised that it lathers up really well. The scent is light and pleasant. After months of usage, my back is clear from any more breakouts. Before I would have to deal with 4 or 5 pimples at a time… it was not a pretty sight. Every now and then I will still have a pimple emerge out of nowhere, but my body wash dries it out within a couple of days.

Dear Neutrogena,
Thanks for literally watching my back.
Love, Arianne

Now I don’t have bacne problems! Yay! My only problem is the pigmentation spots that my bacne left on my back. Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of them?
